FREE SPEECH essay contest $10,000 Scholarship
  • Essay topic: Why free speech is so important to higher education and why censorship undermines the ideals of liberal education.
Future of Assisted Living Scholarship
  • General scholarship for graduating seniors.
  • Essay 500-750 words
  • Topic-How can your major of study improve the lives of seniors in assisted living facilities in your town?
ACT Student Champion Scholarship
  • A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions
  • Student must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test or a 3.0 or greater.
Ron Brown Scholar Program

($10,000 annually for four years)
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Black/African Americans, and a current high school senior
  • Must excel academically
  • Show exceptional leadership potential
  • Participate in community service activities
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Deadline: November 1, 2017 (applications will be given early consideration)
  • Second due date: January 9, 2017 (final deadline to be considered for the RBSP)

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
  • Exceptional leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship
GRIM EDUCATIONAL FUND SCHOLARSHIP
  • Applicants must be residents of Winchester/Frederick and Clark Counties, Va.
  • Applicants must be high school senior enrolled in high school in one of the above-named counties.
  • Must be in need of financial assistance
  • Must have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be attending a college or University accredited by the Southern Association of College or Universities,

The Coolidge Scholarship

Winchester Chapter of the Izaak Walton League (WIWL) Conservation Scholarship Program
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Permanent resident of Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke Counties or City of Winchester for the past three years.
  • Must be graduating
  • Must be planning to attend a 2-4 year college or trade school
  • Pursuing a degree/certificate in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics with emphasis on conservation, environmental protection, wildlife management, or a related field

 Virginia Mayflower Society Scholarship
(VMS)

($1,620.00)
  • An original essay on this year's subject no more than 1500 words in the MLA, APA or Chicago Manual of style. 
  • Must be a high school senior.
  • You MUST be a Virginia resident, related to a Virginia resident, or a member or related to a member of the Virginia Mayflower Society.
  • Must have a GPA of a 3.0
  • Must be sponsored by one of your current teachers or by a member of the VMS.
  • Deadline: March 19, 2018
  • Must provide the scholarship committee with everything listed on the application.

(provides up to $80,000 over four years)
  • Recipients must be enrolled at University of Michigan and pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or another related science field

WACE National Co-op Scholarship program
  • Must be admitted to one of the nine institutions listed in the scholarship brochure/online.
McDaniel College Educator's Legacy Scholarship ($100,000 over 4 years)
  • Current high school seniors who complete a college prep program with at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Must be admitted to McDaniel College
  • Parent or guardian must meet the educator eligibility requirements
  • Complete and file the online K-12 employment verification form online K-12 employment verification form
  • Submit the McDaniel Application or The Common Application for admission
  • Send a copy of your high school transcript
  • Submit a Secondary School Report form and two letters of recommendation from academic sources
