On Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27, students who achieved an academic award for the 2019-2020 school year will be receiving their recognition during their first block class. Virtual students may stop by the school during school hours to pick up their award.

Class of 2021 Graduation Date

The revised 2020-21 school calendar adopted by the School Board on August 11 moved the first day of school for students to September 8 and rescheduled Sherando High School’s 2021 graduation ceremony for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021.

Meeting Notice
School Board Meeting to Stream Live
11/24/2020
On Tuesday, December 1, the Frederick County School Board will meet at 6:00 p.m. (Closed Session) / 7:00 p.m. (Public Session) at the FCPS Administration Building. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Frederick County Public Schools' commitment to adhering to current public health and safety recommendations such as the 25 person limit for in-person gatherings, a limited number of citizens will be able to attend the meeting in person. Those who want to attend the meeting must register. The meeting will also be made accessible via a live video stream on the FCPS YouTube Channel. Citizen/staff comments will be provided to School Board members at the meeting. The deadline to submit comments is Tuesday, December 1 at 3:00 p.m.

On-Time Graduation Rate
10/01/2020
Frederick County Public Schools’ on-time graduation rate for the Class of 2020 was 93 percent compared to Virginia’s rate of 92.3 percent. In addition to exceeding the state’s on-time graduation rate, the school division’s 4.3 percent dropout rate for the Class of 2020 was lower than the state’s rate of 5.1 percent.
